The New Orleans Bowl will move to the morning this year.
The game will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 20 and will feature teams from the Sun Belt and Mountain West conferences. The game will be played in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and will air on ESPN.
For this year's game, the Mountain West Conference will replace Conference USA as the opponent to the Sun Belt representative. Officials say the matchup between Sun Belt Conference and Mountain West will expose the game, hospitality and entertainment of New Orleans to a new geographical audience of fans.
“We are pleased to again be associated with the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl,” said Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson.
“The City of New Orleans is a premier postseason destination, and the Mountain West has a great history in the bowl, with Colorado State’s participation in the inaugural 2001 game and San Diego State’s 2011 appearance," Thompson said. "We look forward to sending another high-quality representative as a culmination to the 2014 college football season.”
The game, in it's 14th year, generates an estimated economic impact exceeding $25 million annually.
